NBA

Twelve games turned a 30-way tie into a real order. Toronto is first after beating Washington 112-102, Dallas second and Charlotte third, even though the Hornets lost to Atlanta by 47. Ten teams share fourth.

Three games were decided late. Utah trailed New Orleans 90-86 after three quarters and won 120-119. Memphis trailed Golden State 90-84 entering the fourth and won 111-108. Chicago was down 104-102 at Milwaukee after three and won 132-125. Boston led New York 83-73 after three quarters and held on 107-103.

Not every winner moved up. Minnesota beat Orlando 115-93 to go 2-0, but both of its opponents are 0-2, so it sits in the tie for 15th. A win over a team with a poor record can lower a Rating.
